Rev. Robert F. Garrett and Wife Vickie became our pastor and wife in April 2004. Rev. Garrett was born May 1, 1958, son to the now deceased David E. and Elizabeth Garrett in Memphis, TN. Robert has one older brother, David W. Garrett who still lives in the Memphis area. Graduated from Raleigh Egypt High School in 1976 and continued with his education with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree at The University of Memphis in 1981. He received his Master of Arts in Religious Education at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Ft. Worth Texas, in 1984. He was licensed to the Ministry June 6, 1979; ordained to the Ministry August 2, 1981 by Oakville Memorial Baptist Church in Memphis TN.
Our Pastor served as Minister of Youth, Oakville Memorial Baptist Church, Memphis, TN, 1978-1981; Minister of Youth and Recreation, Terry Parker Baptist Church, Jacksonville, FL, Summer of 1982; Minister of Youth and Recreation, First Baptist Church, Crowley, TX, May 1983 to 1987. Before coming to be our pastor Rev. Garrett was Associate Pastor and Minister of Education and Youth at Beulah Baptist Church, Statesville, NC - September 1987 to April 2004.
The pastor’s wife Vickie Adcock Garrett is from Pageland, SC. They were married on June 5, 1983. They have three children, Rachel Lauren age 22, Joni Elizabeth age 20, and Marcie Rebecca age 18.
Ms. Karen Pruette,
Minister of Youth,
Ms. Karen W. Pruette became our Minister of Youth in August, 1991. Karen was born April 2, 1962 to Fred and Alice Wilson in Winston-Salem, NC. Karen grew up in Fork Baptist Church. She graduated from West Davidson High School in 1980, and received her Bachelor of Arts in Religious Education at Gardner-Webb College (now University) in 1984.
Karen served as Youth Minister at Concord Baptist Church in Bostic, NC, 1981 – 1983; Minister of Youth , First Baptist Church, Spindale, NC, 1983-1986, and Minister of Youth, Pilot View Baptist Church, High Point, NC, 1986-1990.
Karen has two children, Bradley Steven, age 17 and Jessica Marie, age 15.
